 TIMELINE
1945 Harold Bishop and Paul Schumacher form a partnership to manufacture gas conversion burners for residential coal furnaces.
1946 H-P begins to manufacture hospital cabinets and boat trailers in Louisville, Ohio. 1947 H-P Products incorporates.
1951 H-P diversifies by expanding metal elbow ends for a tube bending company in Cleveland, Ohio.
1985 H-P starts mass production of automotive parts (for example Corvette parts and the IROC Camaro's air intake manifold). The first end-forming machine for tube expansions is purchased to further expand H-P's capabilities.
1986 The first addition to the Main Street plant doubles H-P capacity.
1987 H-P completes its second addition to the Main Street Plant and installs robotic welding equipment to enhance custom production.
1989 H-P expands cut-off capabilities and installs robotic welding equipment to enhance production of custom parts, including Jeep traction bars.
1993 H-P purchases it's first 2 CNC tube benders to support the manufacture of Aptiva computer stands for IBM.
1994 H-P increases capacity of cut-off work cell.
1999 Custom Tubular produces it's 5 millionth stabilizer bar for the automotive industry.
2002 A new generation of robotic weld cells are added to benefit link bar production.
2004 H-P begins investing heavily in CNC bending technology to aid the custom and heavy OEM markets. The purchase of two bending machines increases H-P's CNC bending capability to 6" OD tubing.
2005 Additional manufacturing capacity and flexibility is gained from the addition of a new 4" CNC bending machine. The implementation of 3-D modular fixturing and welding tables improves H-P's welding efficiency
2006 H-P purchases two additional CNC bending machines for Heavy Duty OEM production. H-P invests in four end-forming machines to improve capabilities and produce "Marmon" ends compliant with the 2007 diesel emissions regulations. A Pines #6 and a Pines #8 are purchased to increase large OD bending capabilities.
